Mrs. Johnson Bids Farewell to St. Aloysius

June 15, 2023 by Mrs. Johnson, Principal

To the Families of St. Aloysius School:

It is with great sadness that I announce that this will be my final year serving as the St. Aloysius School principal.  We never know what God has planned for us, and even a month ago, I would not have guessed that I would be writing this letter today.  I have been blessed to have been recruited by and hired to serve the Dominican Sisters as the Executive Director of their Foundation, Vision of Hope.

I have greatly enjoyed the 20 years that I have spent in this community, both as a teacher and as a principal.  It is rare for someone to have a job that they enjoy going to each and every day, but I can truly say that I have loved each day that I have spent at St. Aloysius School.  There are not many communities like the one which exists here.  Our students and their families are the most kind and generous people that I have had the pleasure of working with.  Furthermore, the St. Aloysius teachers and staff have become my family.  Teachers, know that you have all truly impacted my life, and I am eternally grateful for that.

While it is with sadness that I say goodbye, it is with great joy that I announce my successor.  The position of St. Aloysius School Principal will be assumed by Mrs. Laura Paz.  Mrs. Paz has proudly served the St. Aloysius School and Parish community for 23 years as both an educator and Vice Principal.  Father Pedro and I have great faith in her ability to provide our students with an education that both expands their knowledge and their development as Christians.

As I move on to support not simply one, but eight inner-city schools, please wish me luck and keep me in your prayers.  I have much to learn, and I also have much for which to be grateful, including you all.  Please know that you can still reach me at any time by emailing me at n.johnson@staloysiusla.org.  Farewell to the amazing community of St. Aloysius School, I will miss you all!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Johnson
