Construction work has begun for our $1.1 million project!
We are grateful and humbled by the commitment from Shea Family Charities to support our community with this life-changing grant to improve facilities and infrastructure. This grant builds on the Blended Learning grant of 2015 which organically solidified a network of support and confirmed a partnership amongst Hilton Foundation, Shea Family Charities, Specialty Family Foundation, and Loyola Marymount University to formally co-fund an initiative to personalize education, build capacity, and improve operational vitality.
Since then, St. Aloysius Gonzaga School has grown from 172 to over 265 students, eliminated all combined classes, implemented STEM Instruction with the support of the Catholic Schools Collaborative, launched Preschool, added electives and extracurricular activities, and strengthened our mental health support services in collaboration with Carrie Stelle Doheny Foundation. This grant will go beyond and improve many facets of the school, church, and hall including but not limited to electrical updates, HVAC, flooring, windows, paint, safety improvements, plumbing, additional water fountains, technology, and much more!
It is truly amazing how funders are working together to advance their missions while sharing learnings and developing innovative solutions to address specific challenges within our school. These partnerships are essential to overcoming the disparities within our community and assuring that all children have access to affordable quality education.
